Dr. Amelia Phillips

Tenured Faculty

Rav holds a BSc(Hons), MSc and, C & G in Education. He has held numerous jobs in large corporations such as Cadbury’s, Tarmac PLC, and Spicers (UK). He has been at Highline College since 2001, and currently teaches Computer Science, Gaming, Web and Mobile App Development. He also develops and manages numerous database driven websites.

Rav Kang

Dept. Coordinator

Chun has a MS degree in CST and InfoSec from City U, and more than 15 years of teaching experience in IT, infoSec and cybersecurity.  Chun is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer, A+ and Net+ certified, Cisco Certified Academy Instructor and loves to teach CISCO and network technology. He takes his job seriously and considers our national cybersecurity to being a critical matter.

Syeda has a Master’s degree from Fatima Jinnah Women University.  She came to the USA in March, 2015 and has been teaching since then. She is passionate about Computer Science and inspiring students to pursue and complete their degree’s in Computer Science related fields.

Leonard is an honorable veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He has master’s degrees in Clinical Informatics and a bachelor’s of science in nursing from UW and AA degree in Computer Science. He is registered nurse, A+ and Microsoft System Engineer. He currently teaches courses in the CIS and HIT depts.

Simone has spent the last seventeen years dedicated to teaching in the computer information systems area.  She has held full time positions at ITT and a nearby community college, and has also been a highly respected adjunct teacher at High line.
She also has a strong track record of commitment to students outside the classroom.  As a first generation American, she is particularly committed to efforts ensuring that students from all backgrounds can be successful in STEM related education and careers.
Simone received her M.A. in Information Technology/Digital Forensics from American Public University, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, and a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from University of Puget Sound.

Emma Kong

Emma received an M.S degree in Communication Engineering from National Central University, Taiwan, and a Ph.D degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University. Before working at Highline College, she was a Dean and a faculty member. She has been teaching courses which include the following: Cyber Security, Networking, Database Management Systems and other related courses in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems. Before being a faculty, she assisted in multiple undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Engineering during her master’s and doctoral study. Her mission is not only to convey knowledge efficiently to students but also to inspire and motivate students inside and outside the classroom.
