The Cybersecurity Operations program prepares graduates for entry-level positions in data recovery services at businesses, government, and law enforcement agencies. The experienced teachers at Highline teach students to perform computer forensics analyses, examine how malicious code behaves on networks, and implement an organization’s information security plan. Students learn to use hardware and software tools to recover lost or corrupted data from hard drives and other storage media. They use forensics techniques to determine the reason for data loss. They may also monitor the network for security breaches, respond to cyber attacks, and in some cases, gather data and evidence to be used in prosecuting cyber crimes.
